China Airlines Makes a Bold Move with 23 Boeing 777X Aircraft

China Airlines has become the first customer in Taiwan to order Boeing’s next-generation widebody 777X aircraft. The airline has placed firm orders for 10 777-9 passenger jets and 4 777-8 freighters, along with options for 5 additional 777-9s and 4 more 777-8Fs.

With this fleet expansion, the airline aims to enhance passenger comfort and improve cargo efficiency. Boeing’s 777-9 stands out with a seating capacity of 426 passengers, 20% lower fuel consumption, and a range of 7,295 nautical miles.

The Chairman of China Airlines stated that the new aircraft would support the company’s sustainability goals, while Boeing officials expressed their pleasure in further strengthening a partnership that spans nearly 60 years.
